Four workers were shot dead in a raid at a hospital under construction in Dadaab, Garissa county. The construction workers, who are all non locals, were first tortured before being shot at close range in the chest and head, police said. Officers investigating the June 7 incident said there were possibilities that the four were killed by a militia operating in the area. “The militia had warned the contractor not to come to the site three days ago. A major operation is ongoing to curb al-Shabaab-related attacks, which are prevalent due to the proximity to the main Kenya-Somalia border.
