Pep Guardiola suggested he was unaware that Manchester City were breaking Premier League rules regarding kick-off delays, and joked he will shorten his team-talks as a result. City were fined just over £2m by the Premier League this week for 22 instances of late or delayed kick-offs across the last two seasons. After initial warnings, the league increased fines for repeat offences starting at £10,000 up to the highest £200,000 punishment. In the official reasons published on the judgement, the Premier League said City have reminded their players and management team of their responsibilities in ensuring games start and restart in a timely manner. The charges and fines are entirely separate to the club's 115 alleged breaches of financial rules, and also the club's legal action against the Premier League regarding Associated Party Transation rules.
