Pakistan on Wednesday demanded the world community to press the Afghan government to stop the attacks carried by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Otunbayeva recalled the second meeting of national and regional special envoys for Afghanistan, held in Doha on 18 and 19 February. “They also stressed that consultations should be genuine and not merely a matter of the international community communicating its decisions to them,” she added. Otunbayeva, who also heads the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), further voiced concerns over “numerous negative trends” observed recently. Otunbayeva stated that Afghanistan remains a persistent challenge for the international community.
