The findings of a new poll indicate that a majority of Kenyans are facing financial hardships attributed to the increasing cost of living and the weight of taxation imposed by President William Ruto's government. According to a survey conducted by Infotrak on December 18 and 19, 2023, only 5% of Kenyans are living comfortably, despite the economy's upward trajectory. The report highlights that 55% of the population is struggling to meet their financial needs, while an additional 18% are undergoing financial distress. Other 12% want the government to reduce taxes; another group asked the government to ensure food security and improve health services countrywide.
