TO COMMEMORATE the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations, the Chinese Embassy of Malaysia organised an open day to further foster better understanding among the people of both countries. They had a chance to try their hand at writing Chinese calligraphy, making Chinese New Year decorations and wearing traditional attire. Chinese Embassy Minister Zheng Xuefang, in his speech, said Spring Festival was a time for family reunions and get-togethers. “It is China’s biggest traditional festival and a public holiday in many other countries including Malaysia. “Hence, guests are invited to the embassy to make dumplings or jiao zi, experience traditional Chinese culture, and together usher in the Year of Dragon,” he said.
