HÀ NỘI — The role of pre-school education in the national education system is affirmed in the Education Law. In densely populated areas, due to the lack of schools and classes, children under five have to give up their places to children in the universal education programme. The shortage of pre-school teachers has been a problem for the education sector in many provinces and cities for many years. Although Tiền Giang Province organises many recruitment pushes every year, pre-school teachers are still lacking. The universalisation of preschool education for three- to four-year-olds faces many challenges due to the difficult living conditions of the people, whose economy depends on fishing and salt production.
