On the very first point of Nebraska’s match against Purdue, coach John Cook challenged an official’s call and won the video review. Nebraska landed the final blows — Merritt Beason did — and won in five sets. Chicoine just kept going in the fifth set, and her three quick kills in the set got Purdue an 8-7 lead. The third set was a slugfest, with 17 kills for Nebraska and 16 for Purdue. Purdue won the final two points on Nebraska’s hitting error and a kill by Hudson to win 25-23.
