High-altitude mountaineers Naila Kiani and Samina Baig made history on Sunday as they became the first Pakistani women to successfully ascend the perilous peak of Nanga Parbat, the world's ninth highest mountain. Nearly 28 mountaineers from around the world summitted the mountain on the same day, marking it as the largest single-day Nanga Parbat summit. Aside from the Pakistani climbers, an expedition team from Imagine Nepal reported that ten of their members also successfully scaled Nanga Parbat on the same day. Earlier this year, she became the second Pakistani woman to ascend the mighty Everest. Baig, on the other hand, was the first Pakistani woman to ascend Mount Everest in 2014.
