President Ruto, Haiti PM seal police deployment dealKenya and Haiti have signed an agreement on the deployment of 1,000 police officers to the Multi-National Security Support Mission in the nation’s capital Port-au-Prince. President Ruto and Haiti PM Ariel Henry witnessed the signing ceremony in State House Nairobi on Friday, March 1. Dr. Ruto had offered 1,000 police officers to lead the multinational force in Haiti. However, the High Court had blocked the deployment of Kenyan police to gang-ruled Haiti to help bring the situation under control. Last July, President Ruto said he was willing to send Kenyan police to help stem the deepening crisis.
