Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima dies in Monday plane crashMalawi Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine others have been confirmed dead following Monday’s plane crash. President Lazarus Chakwera on Tuesday announced that the plane that was carrying Chilima was found and everybody on board was confirmed dead. Chilima, 51, was aboard a military aircraft with nine others that left Lilongwe, the capital, at 09:17am, Malawi’s Office of the President and Cabinet said in an earlier statement. The plane was unable to land at the airport due to poor visibility and was ordered to return to the capital, President Chakwera said in a televised address to the nation.
