KURA closes section of United Nations Avenue in Runda due to floodingThe Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura) has announced the closure of a section of United Nations Avenue in Runda due to flooding. Roads have been cut, houses have been washed away and many lives have been lost as a result of the incessant rains. As a result, roads have been closed as part of the government’s efforts to ensure the safety of Kenyans. The excessive rainfall has caused rivers and drains to overflow, turning roads into waterways and destroying homes. Logistical support is being provided to facilitate the evacuation of settlements in 33 high-risk counties with 178 high-risk dams and reservoirs.
