Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services has begun a recruitment effort for health care workers focused on people living as refugees in Ethiopia. The health authority says virtual interviews took place with prospective candidates over a three-day period last month, and job offers will soon be made. CEO David Diamond says the recruitment effort is mutually beneficial for candidates and their families who may be able to leave a “precarious living situation” to work in this province. All candidates will be required to meet immigration requirements, as well as demonstrate health care and English proficiency skills. The authority is recruiting for numerous positions including LPNs, PCAs, RNs.
