At a virtual meeting held on January 21, 2026, the Eastern Regional Executive Committee deliberated on the matter and resolved to suspend Benjamin with immediate effect. Tension mounts in Wulensi as 99 suspended NDC members cry foul over ‘political prosecution’The committee further referred the case to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for thorough investigation and determination. Benjamin has also been directed to surrender all party properties in his possession to the constituency secretary. The party noted that the suspended officer will be invited to appear before the Regional Disciplinary Committee to respond to the allegations, after which the committee will submit its findings and recommendations to the REC.
