Musicians invited to upcoming industry forum in Kitchener

KITCHENER — The City of Kitchener is hosting a forum for musicians to learn more about the music business. The Musician Development Forum is geared to local independent musicians and is intended to help them navigate a changing music industry. Guest speakers will include Joanne Setterington, founder of public relations and artist management company Indoor Recess; entertainment career guidance specialist Steve Waxman; and Michael Perlmutter, music supervisor and owner of instinct entertainment. They’ll be interviewed by CBC Radio host and singer for The Kramdens, Craig Norris. Topics will include building and nurturing a fan base, managing a career, marketing, and placing music in film, television and commercials.
