For a brief moment after high school at Millard North, Lizzie Johnson considered studying marine biology — there’s something about oceans that seems attractive to land-locked Nebraskans. Jamie Lee Curtis is developing the project from a book that took three years to report and write. She started at the Washington Post in 2021. One of those she’s most proud of is an investigation into a high school rowing coach who was abusing girls on his team. As part of the enterprise reporting team at the Washington Post, she’s traveled to Ukraine to cover that conflict from the front lines.
