CNN —More than 800 people have been killed after the deadliest earthquake in decades struck central Morocco, with many of the victims in hard to reach mountainous areas. Not since 2004 has the country seen a comparable disaster, when a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the port city of Al Hoceima, claiming around 630 lives. Most houses in the mountain village of Asni near the epicenter were damaged, Montasir Itri, a local resident, told Reuters. Residents of Marrakech stay out at a square after an earthquake struck the region on Friday night. I’m still in the road with my children and we’re scared,” Houda Hafsi, a 43-year-old Marrakech resident, told Reuters.
