It started with a question only a child would ask and led to a publishing phenomenon that’s still growing more than 50 years later. The question – posed by eight-year-old Adam Hargreaves to his father, Roger – was, “What does a tickle look like?”Turns out it’s orange and round with a smiley face, little legs and long wiggly arms all the better to tickle you with.
