Macron calls for end to arms exports used in Gaza and LebanonFrench President Emmanuel Macron has called for an end to arms exports used in Gaza and Lebanon. He said it was the only means to end the two conflicts, but was not a call to disarm Israel. "We have reiterated the need for a ceasefire, and this ceasefire is essential both in Gaza and in Lebanon. France is not a major weapons provider for Israel, shipping military equipment worth £25.1m last year, according to the defence ministry. The UK also said last month it would suspend some arms exports to Israel, citing a "clear risk" they could be used in a serious breach of international law.
