Six jerseys Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi wore during the 2022 Qatar World Cup will go up for auction. “[We] are announcing the auction of six jerseys I wore during the 2022 World Cup, including the one I wore during the final,” Messi wrote. The jersey’s will be on [famed auction house] Sotheby’s website from November 30 to December 14. The most expensive football jersey is Diego Maradona’s 1986 World Cup quarterfinals kit, which went for US$9.28 million in Sotheby’s London in May of the same year. Messi’s jerseys will be displayed to the public at Sothesby’s New York, from November 30 to December 14.
