The cool kids have the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, but the wonks have former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). This political beef goes back months, when Gaetz basically single-handedly set in motion the ouster of McCarthy as Speaker of the House last October. In an interview with Politico’s Olivia Beavers published on Wednesday, McCarthy threw down the latest insult against his nemesis, calling him “the Hunter Biden of the Republican party,” referring to the troubled son of President Joe Biden:“Gaetz is the Hunter Biden of the Republican Party,” McCarthy said. As for McCarthy’s allegations about Gaetz, the latter has denied ever paying for sex with an underage girl. A few McCarthy allies have even privately suggested using the internal inquiry’s findings to try to oust Gaetz from Congress, if the conclusions are damaging enough.
