Man dies in hospital after fatal daytime stabbing downtown

A man has died after he was stabbed downtown Friday afternoon near Yonge-Dundas Square. Around 1:50 p.m., Toronto police and paramedics responded to calls of a stabbing at Victoria Street and Dundas Street East in front of The Works, a city-run safe injection and harm reduction site. Paramedics told the Star that the man was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, police said the man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
