The company reported underlying EBITDA of £20 million for the 24 weeks ending May 1, 2022, despite “unprecedented supply chain chaos”. Among fruits and vegetables, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, watermelons, bananas, and coconuts were most frequently ordered. More than 5,000 tonnes of organic fruits and vegetables were also sold through the platform. It was part of former CEO Ian Moir’s ambitions to make Woolworths a leading retailer in the southern hemisphere.
