DEPUTY Speaker Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said will not allow MPs to raise on-going court matters in Parliament. “If I were, I would not have allowed an on-going court case to be raised in the House as it is sub-judice,” she said when asked by RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) on a ruling. She acknowledged that the rule was subject to the interpretation of a presiding House speaker. Rayer asked Azalina to make a ruling following the statement made by Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian) during his debates on the 12th Malaysia Plan in Dewan Rakyat last week. On Rayer’s request for Ahmad to retract and apologise to the House for his statements, Azalina asked him to file his request officially by way of a motion.
