Corruption-accused former president Jacob Zuma's uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party "poses a substantive risk to the continued peaceful nature" of South African politics, the DA wrote to G7 and Scandinavian foreign ministers, as well as the European Union. The party asked for their help in ensuring there is no foreign interference in South Africa's looming elections. In February, the Multi-Party Charter (MPC), of which the DA is a leading member, wrote to foreign ministers and other relevant organisations to request assistance in ensuring the results of the upcoming national and provincial elections accurately reflect the will of the people of South Africa.
