LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A community in Las Vegas is celebrating the opening of its brand-new cultural district. “Little Ethiopia” officially opened on Tuesday morning with an unveiling ceremony near Decatur and Flamingo. Organizers said 40,000 Ethiopians call Las Vegas home and this establishment is now a place where they can gather as a community. As the first cultural district of its kind in Las Vegas, one organizer said he encourages other ethnic groups in the area to get to know each other. “We invite other communities, like we are surrounded by Chinese, Korean, Filipino and other groups in the area,” said Teshager Kelkay of Little Ethiopia.
