President William Ruto on Friday announced that he had made several female ambassadorial appointments, in honour of the contribution of women to the leadership of the country. In the appointments, he said 10 would serve as Ambassadors and High Commissioners, while the rest would be deputy ambassadors. "This morning I have appointed 10 more women as ambassadors in different parts of the world and another six deputy ambassadors in recognition of the contribution of women in the leadership of women," Ruto said. The Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has now made public the names of the women who have been picked to serve in the different positions. "His Excellency the President has transmitted the nominations of High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and Permanent Representatives to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament in fulfilment of the legal requirement set out under our nation's supreme law," Koskei said.
