Most of the damage associated with that tornado was to tree limbs, Wood said. Multiple cars got stuck in floodwaters in north Lincoln just after midnight, and a couple of them remained stranded under the North 48th Street bridge near Cornhusker Highway early Tuesday morning. Barjenbruch said the highest rain totals in Lincoln — about 4½ inches — were concentrated near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus. The university suspects overnight rainfall was the cause of the damage, but that hadn't been confirmed, Keenan said. The storms still weren't finished, though, as another severe thunderstorm rolled through north Lincoln just before noon Tuesday, dropping more rain and hail up to 1½ inches in diameter, Barjenbruch said.
