The International Energy Forum (IEF) today announced that Libya has joined the world’s largest organization of energy ministers, bringing the total IEF membership to 72 countries. Secretary General Joseph McMonigle said: “We look forward to working with Libya to enhance and strengthen the global energy dialogue.”The IEF’s mission is to promote global dialogue on energy security, market stability and data transparency as well as new technologies and the energy transition. Libya is also a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO).
