The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, on an official visit to Libya they met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Al Taher Salem al Baour, and the Minister of the Interior, Imad Mustafa Trabelsi. “The mission in Libya – underlined Minister Piantedosi – is part of the excellent relations we have established with the countries of the Mediterranean area, which see us engaged in a continuous and structured dialogue. During the meeting with the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, the importance of shared management of the migration phenomenon with the European Union and with the countries of origin of the flows was agreed. “In a climate of extraordinary collaboration – concluded Piantedosi – we shared operational strategies, for an immediate start of the projects dedicated to assisted voluntary repatriations to the countries of origin”.
