Formula 1 drivers are paid millions of pounds to drive their cars around in circles and in Austin, Max Verstappen earned every single one of them. In a skirmish between Verstappen and his main title rival Lando Norris on the first corner, and another in the closing stages, he used every available millimetre of track — and several more outside of it — to keep him behind. Controversial, bullish and with his elbows out, he is a fearsome rival for Norris, who was again left ruing his own turn one approach.
