The owner of the dog is described as a woman in her 40s or 50s, with blonde hair, wearing a long, light-coloured, thin raincoat which went down to the knees. It is believed she was also wearing an orange dog whistle. The dog is described as an orange and white dog of an unknown breed, said to be just larger than a beagle. Cumbria Police said: "We are looking for any witnesses to try and identify the dog owner to help progress the investigation.
