The research by holiday cottage company holidaycottages.co.uk, which gathered responses from over 12,000 UK holidaymakers, asked people to reflect on the places and experiences that bring them the most joy while on a UK break. The results saw Keswick place 2nd overall and Ambleside take 8th place, giving Cumbria two locations in the national top 10 happiest holiday destinations. Cumbrian holiday letting agency Sally’s Cottages is celebrating Keswick’s recognition as runner-up in the UK’s ultimate ‘happy places’.
