Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has noted Kusile as a critical path to restoring South Africa’s electricity grid supply and demand balance. Kusile Power Station consists of 6 generating units with a capacity of 800MW each bringing the total installed capacity of 4,800 MW. Kusile is taking big steps to reduce CO₂ emissions and remains on track to meet its decarbonisation goals,” said Ramokgopa. Way forward beyond plans for Kusile Power Station? To attract more investment, the Embedded Generation Task Team is working and supporting over 100 projects to clear regulatory hurdles and close projects as quickly as possible.
