On Monday, January 29, the national dailies widely reported on the political battles with the Mt. Kenya region over the 2032 succession politics. The StandardA section of leaders allied with former president Uhuru Kenyatta accused President William Ruto of funding the divisions in the Mt Kenya region. According to Jubilee Party leaders, the ongoing political upheavals in the Mt Kenya region are part of Ruto's game plan to have Kenya Kwanza government-allied leaders join his team. The leaders who attended a funds drive at the Mountain of Joy Celebrations in Limuru on Sunday accused Ruto of using a divide-and-rule tactic to deny Mt Kenya unity of purpose.
