Nairobi - World marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum has been honoured for his 2023 sporting exploits, albeit posthumously. Kelvin Kiptum speaks during a press conference before the World Athletics Awards in Monaco. The deceased athlete adds the annual award to a list of accolades that include Male World Athlete of the Year for out of stadia events. PAY ATTENTION:Kiptum broke the marathon world record in October, winning the Chicago Marathon in two hours and 35 seconds. Former world marathon record holder Patrick Makau picked the accolade from Namwamba on behalf of Kiptum's family.
