July Charter must be prioritised like election, justice, says YunusChief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has said the July Charter must be treated with the same importance as national election and justice. The observation came on Thursday evening during a two-hour meeting of the National Consensus Commission held at the State Guest House Jamuna under his leadership. A statement from the Chief Advisor’s Office (CAO) said the session discussed the commission’s proposals on implementing the Charter along with recommendations from political parties. “The forthcoming national election in February is not just an ordinary poll, it is a foundational election that will set the course for the future of Bangladesh,” Yunus told the meeting. The proposals of a six-member committee formed to work on the implementation of the July Charter were also presented in the meeting, the statement said.
