— Jimmie Johnson will attempt his own version of “The Double” when he becomes the first driver to be part of the Indianapolis 500 broadcast team hours before he competes in the NASCAR Cup Series’ Coca-Cola 600. Johnson, who ran the Indy 500 in 2022, was part of NBC Sports' broadcast booth in 2021 when he ran only the road and street courses on IndyCar's schedule. NBC said Tuesday that Johnson will be part of the broadcast team at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the May 26 race. “To have the opportunity to experience ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ once again is such an honor,” Johnson said. Johnson will fly to Charlotte Motor Speedway after the Indy 500 to compete in NASCAR's longest race of the year.
