Jake Oettinger, Stars get swamped early in loss to Kraken; stage set for decisive Game 7

SEATTLE — Over a brief and occasionally brilliant career, Jake Oettinger has forged a reputation as a goalie at his best after a loss. Jamie Benn, the captain, wouldn’t blame Oettinger, saying he “played well.” DeBoer didn’t hang out his goalie, either. “When the other team is hungry like that in an elimination game,” DeBoer said, “and you’re on the road, you’ve got to at least be the smarter team. Hintz, who took a big hit late in Game 5 and didn’t return to that game, started Saturday but didn’t make much of an impression. Shot count to that point: Kraken, 14-2.
