LIKE many women, Amani suffers from recurrent UTIs – but hers are so severe she has been left with sepsis six times. The 37-year-old, from Bristol, said there have been times the dangerous infections have left her just hours from death. And each time she has had sepsis, Amani has experienced this “impending sense of doom”. “I don’t remember much of the hours and days that followed, because I was so unwell,” Amani said. “It can literally save a life.”Amani works with sepsis charity Sepsis Research FEAT, helping raise awareness for the work and research they do.
