But that was the state of Canadian political debate this week, with Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre essentially accusing each other of flirting with the wrong type of wealthy people. But it’s fascinating to see how all of the political parties are using wealth as a political wedge against each other in the current climate. It’s not your imagination — Canadian political culture has definitely taken a turn against people of means in the past eight years. After 2015, when Trudeau came to power, that number nearly quadrupled — to 794 as of this week.
