Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter now says that he is not bitter about losing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, in the August 2022 elections. In an undated video seen by the Star, Keter alleged that he was sure that he won the party ticket but was denied by the party leadership. Unajua mimi nilisimama kiti ya Ubunge Nandi Hills na nikashinda UDA nominations na nikanyimwa (I get told that I am angry. You know I vied for the Nandi Hills parliamentary seat and won UDA nominations but I was denied) so people think that I'm bitter, I'm not." After he lost the UDA ticket, he went on to vie as an independent candidate but lost to Bernard Kitur.
