The previous single-day highest for dengue cases was 394, logged on Jun 24. With the new patients, the total number of dengue-related hospital admissions this year has risen to 10,296. More than half of the hospitalised patients this year — 5,951 — were admitted in June alone. In 2024, a total of 101,211 people were hospitalised with dengue in Bangladesh, and 575 people died. This was the third-highest number of dengue admissions in a single year and the second-highest death toll on record.
