Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that the medical services provided by the institute included outpatient services in several specialities including; internal, liver and digestive system, tumours, early detection of tumours, children, skin, and liver transplantation. 101, 503 citizens have received services through medical clinics. Abdel Ghaffar noted that the number of beneficiaries of radiology services amounted to 5,424 cases, including (diagnostic, ultrasound, CT, and resonance imaging), in addition to conducting 60,014 laboratory analyses. Bassem Issa, the Director of the National Research Institute for Endemic, Liver and Infectious Diseases, indicated that the internal department of the institute operates with a capacity of 108 beds, including (internal, intensive and intermediate care) beds. Issa added that the institute participates in the initiative of the president of the republic to finalise waiting lists.
