A student shot in the New Market area of Chattogram during the Anti-discrimination Movement in 2024 has filed attempt-to-murder charges against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 181 others. The victim named AKM Nurullah filed the case in the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique on Monday, almost a year after the incident. Plaintiff’s lawyer Tasnim Akhter Nishat told bdnews24.com that Nurullah filed the case after being shot in the New Market area on Aug 4, 2024. The case alleges that on Aug 4, 2024, Nurullah participated in a protest in the New Market area, where students were attacked. He was shot in both legs and other parts of his body by Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League activists on the accused’s orders.
