Hamilton is well represented in the 2024 nominations for the JUNO Awards: Canada’s massive awards recognizing excellence in our country’s music scene. Additionally, Hamilton-based Indigenous shoegaze band Zoon – headed by Anishinaabe artist Daniel Monkman – was nominated for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year in recognition of their album Bekka Ma’iingan. Notably, their album was also longlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize in 2023. Finally, a hop over to Burlington sees indie pop darlings Walk off the Earth raking in two nominations: one for Group of the Year, the other for TikTok JUNO Fan Choice. The 2024 JUNO Awards will air on March 24th on CBC.
