A crowd of around 300 people gathered outside a Halifax hospice Saturday to pay tribute to the memories of loved ones who have died. The Light Up a Life event — which is common in the U.K. — was held in Halifax for the first time. "I hope people walk away feeling like they were able to sort of acknowledge as a community the life of somebody that mattered to them," said Hospice Halifax CEO Jeff Chant. "In our society, we don't really talk about grief," said Moyer. Chant reminded people that Hospice Halifax offers free grief and bereavement services to the public.
