Banking organisation Standard Chartered, energy supplier Ovo and publishing business Hachette UK have been named as some of The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2024.Business in the Community has created the list for 14 years as part of its work to highlight employers taking action and making gender equality part of their business strategy. Applicants are assessed on the work they do to remove gender inequalities in the workplace, by introducing flexible working, family-friendly policies, reward, and progression at work. Hachette UK was recognised for its commitment to removing gender inequalities in the workplace, which includes its Gender Balance employee network, flexible options, family-friendly initiatives and inclusive culture. Charlotte Woodworth, gender equality director at Business in the Community, said: “While the employers which made the list are doing great work prioritising gender equality, there is still more work to do. That’s why we will always celebrate our people and will continue to champion gender equality and create a place where people truly belong.”
