The European Union (EU) is expected to green-light a project that will see Egypt provide electricity to Greece through an undersea cable. Other European countries have already started the process to tap into the North African energy sector, notably the UK-Morocco and Italy-Tunisia projects. The latest involves Greece’s Copelouzos Group, which has applied to the EU to add an electrical interconnection project between Greece and Egypt to its list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs).
