Google’s digital service platform Google Wallet—commonly known as “Google Pay”—has been officially launched in Bangladesh for the first time. Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur inaugurated the service at The Westin Hotel in Dhaka’s Gulshan on Tuesday,The City Bank launched the digital payment service in collaboration with Google, Mastercard, and Visa. By linking their Mastercard or Visa card to Google Wallet, users will be able to make fast, secure, and contactless payments using Google Pay. Google Pay can be used for everything—from air travel to daily purchases. "We welcome Google Pay to Bangladesh,” Governor Mansur said, expressing the hope that Bangladesh will become a trusted destination for both local and foreign investors.
