According to a police statement, the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation on Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Volta Region. Officers intercepted the GHS-registered vehicle bearing number GV 2460-14 near Tarso Hotel in Ho after the driver failed to stop at a routine checkpoint at OLA Top. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered quantities of suspected narcotic substances. This development is part of intensified security operations aimed at tackling drug trafficking and related offences in the region.
